#5148 Upgrading

Posted by Ricardo_Lira on 05 April 2015 - 04:31 PM

So I purchased the "Basic-Module VAG-KKL" license and I now want to upgrade to the pro version. Only thing is that I cannot seem to find my activation code anywhere to input in the upgrade page. Is there another way of retrieving my activation code?

#5189 disable TPMS

Posted by Egrep on 17 January 2017 - 01:47 AM

Hi. In my V.W. CC 2009. The T.P.M.S system has an error and the light on dash comes on and it keeps coming up and flashing then solid.

Did a scan and it says communications error.

Checking online seems my batteries in the sensors inside the wheels have gone flat. Sensors need to be replaced.

I want to disable the T.P.M.S system until I can get new sensors..They are expensive.

In vag-com it is a simple matter of un-ticking a check box for T.P.M.S system.

In carport there is no such thing and I will need to change the coding for the T.P.M.S  ..

But I can find no info anywhere as to where to get this info.

Any help would be appreciated.

#5129 Climatronic retrofit

Posted by -WP- on 25 November 2014 - 08:04 PM

Hi all,

I'm newbie here so please bare with me.

I recently retrofitted a 2nd-hand Climatronic panel to my 2008 VW Passat 3C. Reason for this retrofit was to have the Auxiliary heater activation button inside the car as I also replaced the non-working TT-V heater with 2nd-hand TT-Vevo unit

Mainly all works as it should but there is a few Faults in the system. First, when with the old Climatronic Panel the settings to temp/vents/etc. were left unchanged after restarting the car, now all settings are preset when I turn off ignition. New Aux.heater is also a Parking heater as the old one was not. Now I have the Aux.heater activation in MFD but there is also a problem it does not activate the Climatronic.

Here is attached the latest System Scan I performed.

I'd be most delighted if someone could help me out here.

#181 Idea - Help speed up scanning

Posted by dab1hand2 on 24 November 2012 - 12:43 PM

As a lot of people will be buying this software for personal use, it would helpfully to be able to save vehicle info / control units. So the first scan would scan all control units, but the second and subsequent scans would only scan control units that where found on the first scan (unless a full scan is requested). So scan times would be reduced.
I have a VW T5 van and about half of the control units it looks for dont apply - but it looks for them every time.

Another idea that would be helpfully is to be able to store scan info so you can investigate the results / faults without being connected to the vehicle. So you could do a scan and at a later point look at the results.

#177 How do I upgrade my Carport

Posted by srac13 on 22 November 2012 - 03:35 PM

I have added the KKL module to my carport, now I want to get OBD added to it. How do I get that done without paying 39.90 for the combined modules. you also need to realize I am in the US, so that isn't $39.90 for me.

And also, what will the OBD module get me, and what else can I do with it?

#562 Few questions

Posted by jjr86 on 29 September 2013 - 04:38 PM

Hi, i have been wondering that i get this CarPort software, cause im pissed for the pirate VCDS cause it's not anymore licensed, even my laptop in garage doesnt have wlan/lan cards... anyway. Is there any big differences comparing to VCDS, does it have all the main features as VCDS, read fault codes, remove them, read all the same blocks/sensors, use output tests, adaptation and Throttle Body Alignment? What about updates? Is that 2.0 version ready now or do i have to wait more using beta? Do i have to pay again in 1 year for license? Or pay only if i want updates? My car is Audi A4 B6 -2002 2.0 96kw

Oh and does it work with blue cable which i got from ebay when i bought .409 version of VAG-COM?

#5159 No Information in coding

Posted by Juki67 on 21 September 2015 - 08:08 AM

Why does Pro version not show information in Description column of bit when coding something?

Like VCDS coding helper/Long code helper.

Lack of this this feature makes coding very difficult.

I hope this will be fixed/added soon. Will it?

#5156 ELM327 and K-Line

Posted by Gerrit van Niekerk on 30 August 2015 - 03:26 PM

Best CarPort people,

I'm trying to get CarPort to talk to my VW Polo Vivo (a South African polo 9N).

According to the StartTab, Carport finds the interface ( ELM 327 v1.5) and happily talks with it. The top-row boxes are all ticked in green, but on the second (Volkswagen) line, I have two red crosses...

I decided to take a look with USBPCap (USB add-on for wireshark), and I think I know where it goes wrong:

CarPort goes through a fairly long protocol programming sequence (eg atpbc0 01, atpp19svff, atpp19on, etc.) to which the ELM keeps on replying OK.

CarPort then writes 'stdi' to which the ELM just replies: '?'. I would assume this 'stdi' should be written to the CAN but ELM just decided it is meant for it and doesn't understand it? (I must confess I have no experience with these car 'modem' protocols ;) )

Anyway, after that, CarPort writes atppi to which ELM dumps a very long summary. After that CarPort just switches off the protocol (atpc) and doesn't try again; just start writing 'ati' every second or so...

So I reckon the problem is that ELM handles the 'stdi' incorrectly? Is there any workaround for this?

I can also send you the wireshark file if it would help.

Kind regards,

#5109 Cruise control activation translating VCDS instructions

Posted by GuruX on 07 March 2014 - 02:46 PM

I bought Carport a while ago. I really like the software and the interface. To me, VCDS looks like something from the early nineties.

I have installed a cruise control stalk and I need to activate it on my 2001 Petrol Audi A2. I have instructions for VCDS, but I can't really find how to do it with Carport.

I know I need to use the beta version for this modification.

VCDS instructions says:

01-Engine, Login - 11, enter 11463 (or 14463 in some instructions), click Do it. Switch ignition off, Test.

Connecting to 01-Engine works fine. Providing the numer 11 at the login tab does not work. The number 11463 works in login, but is this nubmer really supposed to go here?

#5102 Adaption question

Posted by motoracer47 on 12 February 2014 - 07:29 PM

I am a little confused about this.  From what I understand, If I purchase Basic Modules KKL+Can+OBD2, that I will NOT be able to perform adaption?  If I then download the beta version, I WILL be able to perform adaption?  If so, I notice the beta expires on February 27th. Does this mean I will then need to purchase another module to be able to perform adaption after this date,  or will this be considered part of the "year of free updates"?

Next question,

Car--MK4 Bora/Jetta--If I replace the TCM (with a used TCM), does the replacement of this module need to be adapted (coded) to the car? Can this be done with the basic module, or only the beta version?

I don't like to copy info from a competitors site, but this is the only info I can find.

First, make sure there are no fault codes in the auto trans. Then, with the key in the on position, and the engine OFF, do not touch the accelerator pedal.

[02 Auto Trans]

[Basic Settings-04]

Set Group to "000"

Press accelerator pedal all the way to the floor and count out loud for 3 seconds

[Done, Go Back]

Release the accelerator pedal

It is normal for there to be no explicit instructions or changes on the screen when you do the above procedure. The transmission controller does not provide any feedback that it has been successfully performed. For 09G transmissions, Basic Settings Group 001 is used, and the accelerator pedal is NOT touched.

I guess what I am trying to ask is this.  Can the above mentioned procedure be performed with CARPORT? Can it be performed with the current version (1.4) or only with the beta version?  Also, would the address information be the same between CARPORT and VCDS? (specifically, in CARPORT, under address [02 Auto Trans], where would I find [Basic Settings-04]? I do not see anything like that in the trial version.
