hutchead Posted February 22, 2019 Report Share Posted February 22, 2019 I recently purchased CarPort Basic-Module KKL because I thought that would allow me to clear fault codes as advertised. However, I still have the lock on clearing fault codes and it says that I need obd2. I don't understand. Can someone fill me in? Thanks. jens Posted February 22, 2019 Report Share Posted February 22, 2019 There is a different license for OBD2 diagnostics (manufacturer independent diagnostics of exhaust relevant data and faults on address 33). The Basic-Module KKL ist for manufacturer specific diagnostics (access to all control units) via K-Line. Instead of trying to clear the faults via OBD2 diagnostics (address 33) you can connect to the engine control unit (address 01) directly via manufacturer specific diagnostics and clear the fault memory there.
