If freeze frame data is available for an error, there is a chevron on the left of the error code. If you click on the chevron, the freeze frame data is displayed.

What kind of diagnostic adapter do you use ?

Adaptation will be a feature of the upcoming Pro-Modules. Since the development took longer than expected, we decided to release a preview of the Pro-Modules ( the CarPort 2.0.0 beta versions). These beta versions are time limited. We will release beta versions until the Pro-Modules are ready. The next beta will expire at the end of april and can be activated with the activation code you already have. After the Pro-Modules are released, we will offer an upgrade from Basic to Pro for the price difference (50 Euro). The functions coding and basic settings are also available in the beta version. Currently the protocols KWP1281 and KWP2000 are supported. UDS support for the Pro-Module functions will be available in the next beta version. The procedure above can also be performed with CarPort with the exception of UDS ECUs (supported in next beta). If you can't see the basic settings tab, make sure that you have activated the beta version. If the beta version is activated and you still have no basic settings tab, please give us the part number, so we can analyze the problem.

We are in the process of updating our website. The update-licenses will be available on the new website. Till then you can request a prolongation of the update time frame via email. In the email please give us the first two blocks of the activation code.

For your Golf 4 a simple KKL-interface like e.g. the AutoDia K409 is sufficient. The price is below 15€. I think, you should buy the interface and try out the free version of CarPort.

What kind of bluetooth hardware is installed in the computer (chipset, drivers) ? Did you try to manually select the COM-Port of the ELM327 ? You can also try to remove the ELM327 bluetooth device and reinstall it.

What is the car (model, year) you want to diagnose ?

On the Buy-Page is a section "Features of the Basic-Module", which lists all the features of the offered Basic-Modules. Since you need a diagnostic interface to use CarPort, we have a list, that shows the compatible diagnostic interfaces. The photos make it easier, to identify the interfaces.

Sorry for the late reply. The blue cable does work with CarPort. You can test it with the free edition. CarPort reads and clears fault codes and shows all available measuring blocks from all installed ECUs. For newer models you need an interface, that also supports the CAN-bus (e.g. K+CAN Commander 1.4). Advanced features like coding, adaptation, output test, etc. are planned for the pro modules, but can be currently tested/used with the corresponding basic basic module. The pro modules will cost 79,95€ each (KKL and CAN). An upgrade for the price difference of 50€ will be offered. The license is not limited in time. Updates for 1 year are included. If you want to receive updates for another year, you can buy an update license for ~one third of the price of a regular license.

CarPort can do manufacturer specific diagnostics on VW, Audi, Seat and Skoda cars until 2013 with this adapter.

The problem arises, when faulty bluetooth drivers are installed. The drivers from the company IVT (also known as BlueSoleil drivers) and from Toshiba have known issues. To solve the problem, you can open the windows device manager and disable the unused bluetooth-related COM-ports (except for the comport of the ELM327 of course). You can find the COM-ports under "Ports (COM & LPT)". Another solution is - if possible - to switch to the original Microsoft-Bluetooth-Stack.
